China's three major telecom operators have been granted nationwide licenses to use 5G's medium-and low-frequency test frequencies, media reported recently. China unicom and China telecom got 3.5g frequency band, while China mobile got 2.6g and 4.9g frequency band. People in the industry believe that combining the advantages and disadvantages of each frequency band, its allocation scheme is basically in line with expectations.
The allocation details of the scheme are as follows: China telecom has obtained 5G test frequency resources with a total bandwidth of 100MHz from 3400MHz to 3500MHz; China mobile obtained 5G test frequency resources of 260MHz bandwidth of 2515mhz-2675mhz and 4800mhz-4900mhz frequency bands. China unicom obtained 5G test frequency resources with a total bandwidth of 100MHz from 3500MHz to 3600MHz.
It is known that the frequency band of 2515mhz-2675mhz and 4800mhz-4900mhz obtained by China mobile are newly added frequency bands, while the frequency band of 2575-2635mhz is the existing td-lte (4G) frequency band of China mobile.
Some experts believe that the 3.5g band obtained by China telecom and China unicom is the mainstream 5G band in the world. Although the 2.6g frequency band obtained by China mobile has a poor maturity, it has a low frequency band and a continuous frequency band, which has certain advantages in the cost of network construction.
In fact, China mobile, as the largest operator in China, has advantages over the other two in the total bandwidth allocated to each generation network. The bandwidth of 2G network mobile is 39MHz, that of unicom is 16MHz and that of telecom is 15MHz. The bandwidth allocated by the three 3G network operators is 15MHz. The mobile bandwidth of 4G network is 130MHz, China unicom 50MHz and China telecom 55MHz. The bandwidth of 5G network mobile is 260MHz, and that of China unicom and China telecom is 100MHz.
In addition, China telecom and China unicom are expected to have about 1.5 times as many 5G base stations as 4G because their 3.5g band is significantly higher than their 4G primary band of 1.8ghz, according to citic. It is expected that in the early stage of China mobile, 5G construction will be dominated by 2.6ghz. Although the frequency band industry is less mature, it has good coverage and low cost, and the number of 5G base stations is expected to be basically the same as 4G.
