With the popularity of new energy vehicles, as a supporting charging pile for automobiles, it also requires faster charging speed. Charging piles are generally divided into DC charging piles and AC charging piles. DC charging piles are called "fast charging" because of their high power. The requirements of fast charging also put forward higher requirements for the performance of power semiconductors. Application of NMOS in charging pile
NMOS plays a key role in the charging pile. In high voltage power conversion, it is used as a switch tube of Boost circuit for PFC circuit to improve power factor, and also as a main switch tube in DC-DC conversion. Its low on-resistance, high withstand voltage level and high frequency characteristics improve efficiency, meet protection requirements and help miniaturization. In the charging control and path management, it can receive instructions to switch the charging circuit and power supply, and the low gate driving voltage simplifies the design and supports the two-way flow of energy. In terms of safety protection, it can quickly cope with overvoltage, overcurrent, short circuit and overheating, absorb instantaneous energy and adapt to outdoor environment.
In the battery management system, NMOS can turn on the balancing resistor to discharge the single battery with excessive voltage in the series battery pack, so as to realize capacity balance, provide power for BMS chips and sensors, and realize low power consumption in sleep mode through the load switch. Its low leakage current reduces the static loss of the battery, and its high input impedance ensures the stability of the control signal, helps the charging pile to finely regulate the battery, and improves the charging safety and battery life. Selection guide
When selecting NMOS tube for charging pile, the pressure resistance and efficiency of high voltage scene should be given priority. In the high-voltage power conversion module, PFC and DC-DC circuits need 600V-1200V withstand voltage models (such as HKTD 4N65,650 V withstand voltage) to meet the requirements of bus voltage and surge protection. At the same time, low on-resistance (such as HKTD80N06 is only 8mΩ at 20A) can reduce high-power conversion loss and improve efficiency. High-frequency switching characteristics (nanosecond switching time) are adapted to LLC resonance and other circuits, which reduces the volume of magnetic components and helps the miniaturization of charging piles.
In the charging control and protection, the model with low gate threshold voltage of 2.0-4.0V (such as HKTD5N50) is selected, which is compatible with the driver of the main control chip and simplifies the circuit design. With wide temperature range (-55~+150℃) and high avalanche energy tolerance (such as 250mJ), it can adapt to the harsh outdoor environment, quickly respond to overvoltage and overcurrent faults, and ensure charging safety. Low leakage current (≤100nA) model is required for low-voltage BMS scene, so as to reduce the static loss of battery, ensure the stability of balanced control and power distribution, and give consideration to the performance and reliability of the whole scene.
